LISTENING 4 Talking About Holiday Plans

Alan: What are you going to do this bank holiday, Brenda?
Brenda: We're going to Bath for three days.
A: That's nice. I love Bath, and at Easter time, it's not too crowded with foreign tourists.
B: Yes, that's what I thought. In summer, it's best to go somewhere less famous, just into the countryside and stay at a small B&B somewhere.
A: Where are you going to stay in Bath?
B: We're going to stay near my friend's house in a pub called The George.
A: In the centre?
B: No, in a village just outside the city centre next to a beautiful canal. It does B&B and so it is quite cheap.
A: How will you get there? By bus?
B: We were going to, but we decided to rent a car instead because it's cheaper for 4 people. Also, it's easier to go sightseeing around the city.
A: Yes, a rental sounds like a good idea. When will you come back?
B: Monday afternoon. If we leave in the evening, the traffic may be bad. Have you got any plans for the holiday, Alan?
A:Yes, we'll take a boat trip along the Thames.
B: That sounds great. How long for?
A: I'm taking extra two days off work, so altogether five days. We'll go early on Saturday.
B: And where will you stay?
A: On the boat, of course. It's a self-catering holiday.
B: You're got to do all the cooking by yourself? That doesn't sound like a holiday to me!
